# Getting Started

**Making some money.**\
Our economy is fully player-driven, meaning there is no server shop and all trading and pricing are shaped by the community. Instead of a fixed system, players create the market through supply, demand, and interaction with one another.

To help you earn money, we offer a variety of systems including jobs, quests, daily rewards, chest shops, and other in-game activities designed to support different playstyles. While we won’t cover every method in detail here, this section will walk you through the basics to help you get started and begin building your wealth on the server.

Our core economy systems are built around chest shops and jobs. One of the easiest ways to start earning money is by taking on a job or two. You can view all available jobs using the command **/jobs**, and as you progress through them, you’ll receive regular paychecks based on your activity and contributions.

However, the most consistent way to make money is through chest shops. Players can buy and sell resources directly with each other, allowing you to trade items you gather or produce, or even set up your own shop to sell goods at your chosen prices.

To create a chest shop, use **/qs create**, or simply shift + right-click a chest while holding the item you want to sell. Then follow the instructions in chat to set your prices and complete the setup.

The next step in your journey is securing a place to call home, where you can build, store your items, and grow your progress safely. Our Towny system provides the perfect solution for this.

You can choose to join an existing town and claim a plot from other players, or take the lead and create your own town from scratch. If you decide to start your own, you’ll need a minimum of $5,000 in-game currency to establish it.

**Joining a town**\
If you’d prefer to join an existing town, simply ask around—many players are actively looking for new members and are usually happy to invite you into their community. You can also check our Discord server, where towns frequently post recruitment messages and open slots for new residents.

Once you find a town you’d like to join, you can apply using the command:\
\&#xNAN;**/t join \<name>**\
\
**Creating a town**\
To create a town, you must have a minimum of **$5,000**. Once you’ve gathered enough money, you can run the following command:\
\&#xNAN;**/t create \<name>**\
This will establish your town using the name you choose.

Please keep in mind that towns require ongoing funding to remain active. If a town runs out of money, it can go bankrupt and eventually fall into ruins. To add money to your town’s bank, use:\
\&#xNAN;**/t deposit \<amount>**

You can also check when the next tax collection will occur using:\
\&#xNAN;**/towny time**

We’ll go into more detail about Towny mechanics in the upcoming sections of this wiki. Alternatively, you can skip ahead at any time to explore the full range of features and content available on the Survival server.
